Roman Sedlak (born in the Czech Republic) is a contemporary painter whose work combines photorealistic precision with subtle minimalism and a sense of atmosphere. His paintings are characterized by calm, balanced composition and a timeless aesthetic that carries echoes of Art Deco and the visual poetics of classic film footage.

Frequent motifs in his paintings are technology, architecture and intimate moments of everyday life, which he is able to transform into poetic and nostalgic scenes. A typical feature of his work is a fascination with silence and space - the scenes seem as if time has stopped for a moment, and they draw the viewer into a meditative, almost dreamlike world.
