Libor Lipa

Libor Lipa (born September 12, 1963 in Valtice) is a Czech painter and graphic artist. He studied painting at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Brno from 1979 to 1983 with Marie Filipovová, Jiří Coufal and Dalibor Chatrný. After being accepted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, he was expelled due to his incompatibility with the regime of the time and worked mainly in Mikulov, where he lived and created until 2004. Since 2005, he has lived and worked alternately in Prague and Mikulov. In his work, he focuses on painting and drawing – figurative, figurative and abstract – and also uses photography, digital technology and collage in his work.
